The Carnegie UK Trust works to improve the lives of people throughout the UK and Ireland, by changing minds through influencing policy, and by changing lives through innovative practice and partnership work. The Carnegie UK Trust was established by Scots-American philanthropist Andrew Carnegie in 1913.
Since 2014 we have been delivering a multi-strand programme of work aimed at improving access to affordable sources of credit for those most in need. Our focus is to bring new solutions to this area by supporting the development of practical and sustainable alternatives to the commercial high cost credit market. The Trust recognises the vital role credit unions have to play in supporting people to build a savings habit and access affordable credit.
